Invitation

Next steps
An invitation can change a life forever.

Invite

We want Haven to be a place where you feel confident inviting your friends. An invitation has the power to change a life forever.

A study shows that 82% of people would attend church if a friend invited them, but only 2% of Christians actually extend that invitation in a typical year.

This means most people are open—they just need somebody to ask them.

Who Can You Invite?
At Haven, we believe the most meaningful invitations don’t come from marketing or strangers—they come from friends.

The people you laugh with, work with, text back. The ones you grab coffee with, share memes
with, or walk through hard seasons beside. These are your people—and they’re far more openthan you might think.

We call it “Invest and Invite”—not as a strategy, but as a rhythm of life.

We build friendships because people matter, not because we’re trying to “win” them.
We love others because they’re made in God’s image. And when you truly care about someone, it’s
only natural to want them to experience the same hope, freedom, and love you’ve found in Jesus.

So Who Could You Invite?
• A friend walking through a hard season
• A classmate you’ve grown close to
• A teammate, roommate, or running buddy
• A friend you see every week, but have never asked
Don’t overthink it. You don’t need perfect words—just a genuine heart.
Friends invite friends.

Who’s waiting for yours? How to invite?
Inviting a friend to church doesn’t have to be awkward or complicated. In fact, it can be as simple as being yourself and opening a door.
Here are a few ways to make it easy and natural:

1. Send a Text
Sometimes all it takes is a message:
“Hey, I’m heading to church this Sunday—want to come with me?”
“We’ve got this new series going at Haven. I think you’d love it.”

2. Use Social Media
We post weekly invites and service updates on Instagram—repost, share, or DM it to a friend with a personal note.

3. Live with Public Faith
Don’t hide your faith—let it be part of your everyday life.
Mention something meaningful from a Sunday message. Talk about your life group.
Share how Jesus is helping you in a hard moment.
You don’t need a script—just a real, open faith that your friends can see.

4. Bring Them Along
Offer to meet them outside or save them a seat. Grab coffee before or lunch after.
The invite is important, but the follow-through matters even more.

5. Watch for the Right Moment
Be prayerful and present. Some doors open through crisis. Others through curiosity.
Trust the Holy Spirit—and don’t be discouraged if someone says no. You’re planting seeds.

Invite Ninjas
A stealthy little team on a big Kingdom mission.

The Invite Ninjas are a group of people at Haven who are passionate about living missionally
and helping others experience Jesus. We don’t wear capes (yet), but we do believe that inviting people to church is one of the most powerful things you can do.

It’s not about being pushy or perfect—it’s about being intentional, prayerful, and bold with the opportunities God gives us.

As an Invite Ninja, you’ll:
Be part of a WhatsApp group where we share invite stories, ideas, prayer needs, and encouragement.
Hear about key Sundays or moments that are great for inviting.
Help shape the invite culture at Haven by being on the frontlines of what God is doing
Whether you’ve invited one person or one hundred, this team is for anyone who says:
“I want to be part of helping people meet Jesus.”
