The Justice Collective is the umbrella for all our justice efforts at Haven Toronto—an
intentional framework guiding our mission to see injustice ended in our city and beyond.
Rooted in Haven’s Mission, the Justice Collective exists to mobilize our community to bring light into areas of darkness and injustice.
Whether it’s through advocacy, service, or practical support, we believe justice is not optional—it’s the heart of God’s kingdom.
Under the Justice Collective, we envision dedicated units focused on specific areas of
injustice, such as: Homelessness, Human trafficking, Support for the elderly, disability advocacy and more.
Imagine a future where each of these areas has a passionate team actively creating change, resourced and supported by our church.
Our First Focus: Newcomers & Refugees
While the long-term vision is expansive, we know focus creates impact. That’s why we’re
starting with one area where we believe we can make an immediate difference:
Newcomers and Refugees.
Mission
To remove barriers of discrimination and create equal opportunity for every newcomer—while surrounding them with genuine community.
Scope
We’ve identified three key areas of focus for this unit:
Relational – Hosting dinners, building friendships, and integrating newcomers into church life.
Employment & Job Training – Supporting pathways to work and financial stability.
Legal Aid – Assisting with paperwork, asylum processes, and work permits.
